Jeremy on Caroline Rhea Page III

CR: Can you say hello to my sister Celia. Then I don't have to get her anything for Christmas. Just look into the camera and do
you're little sexy Jeremy Northam thing.

JN: [looks at camera and says very plainly but politely]
Hello Celia.
CR: Ah, do it better. That wasnt' that great. It really wasn't.

[JN looks at Caroline with a "what do you mean it wasn't good" look.
Audience laughs]
CR: Really, I felt you were holding back.
JN:
Do you ever consider a career in directing?
CR: [Caroline laughs] Look, play along movie star. Just say hello Celia,

like you're single and you mean it.

JN: [JN looks at the camera and with no expression on his face says]
Hello Celia.

CR: No, that was completely perverse.
JN:
What do you want?
CR: Something in between those two. Like you're not a complete letch, but you could be, you know, it could happen.
[JN looks sexily into the camera and then breaks into laughter. Audience laughs]

CR: One more time. One more time and then we'll talk about your movie. Go ahead.

JN: [JN crosses his legs and put his hand in his other hand, politely looks
at the camera and says]
Hello Celia.  [Audience applauds and cheers a bit.]

CR: I saw Martin and Lewis and you're fantastic as Dean Martin.
JN:
Thank you.
CR: [Talking to camera-Caroline pulls up a picture of Sean Hayes and JN as Martin and Lewis] Here they are together.

[JN turns his head down and puts his hand over his eyes.]
CR: Sean Hayes as Jerry Lewis, and you are Dean Martin. There's something about Dean Martin, I mean, when I was little,
I always thought he was the sexiest man in the world.

JN:
Yeah, it's a bit intimidating, really. Because if you don't feel like that yourself, then um...you know...
he's such an iconic figure, but I don't look anything like him, and there's no way I could be anything like Dean.
So, you kind of have to look for some other things. It was a wonderful screenplay by John Gray, who directed it.

CR: But your mannerisms, you look exactly like him in it.
JN:
Oh well, thank you.
CR: Let's take a look from the movie. I think it's great.

[Clip is shown-scene where Lewis approaches Martin about joining in on the act and Martin says I'm a solo act.]

CR: I was so impressed by your American accent. Can you give me a little Dean Martin?

JN: [In Dean Martin impression]
What do you want me to say?
CR: [Caroline giggles] Umm..that if you lived in America we'd be dating.
[JN just stares at her]
CR: Alright, that's not going to happen. Umm...how about just good-bye Celia.

JN: [In Dean Martin impression again]
I'm not sure if I understand it...
CR: [Caroline laughs] I love that. [Talking to audience now] Martin and Lewis airs Sunday night on CBS. You are going to love it.
He's fantastic in it. We'll be right back.

JN:
Well, thank you.
