Return to Never Never Land

THE world of Peter Pan is being brought to life on the Gold Coast in one of the most expensive films made in Australia.

Director P.J. Hogan (Muriel's Wedding, My Best Friend's Wedding) and a crew of 400 have built boats, magic trees, old London streets and have taught people to "fly" for the $200 million fantasy now halfway through its long shoot.

The latest film based on J.M. Barrie's play and story has American Jeremy Sumpter, 12 -- soon to be seen in the thriller Frailty -- in the title role.

Captain Hook is played by Briton Jason Isaacs, a villain in both Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and The Patriot.

Others in the cast are Ludivine Sagnier (Tinkerbell), Lyn Redgrave (Aunt Millicent), Richard Briers (Smee) and Olivia Williams (Mrs Darling).
